Day 1

Arrival at Córdoba Airport. Reception and transfer. In the afternoon, we make a walking tour around the foundational area of Córdoba visiting the Jesuit Block, which is located in the heart of the city and has been declared a Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO. It includes the Domestic Chapel, the National College of Monserrat, the Church of La Compañía de Jesús, the former headquarters of the National University of Córdoba and the Residence. These constructions compose some of the maximum expressions of baroque art in Latin America. Return to the hotel.

Day 2

We suggest you should continue getting to know the city of Córdoba and its surroundings, which have options for all kinds of interests. If you are a history lover, the Jesuit Estancias Road is an excellent option to discover the history behind the Jesuits arrival at Córdoba. Whether you are keen on outdoor activities, Córdoba has landscapes that worth visiting by a walk or horseback riding through the Hills. In the evening, do not miss the opportunity to explore the nearby neighbourhoods such as Paseo Güemes or Nueva Córdoba, both of them offer quite a rich cultural side in addition to a gastronomic pole where it is possible to taste regional dishes.

At due time, transfer to the airport to board the scheduled flight to your next destination.

Córdoba Optional Tours

City Gourmet.

We suggest you to get to know the bohemian and artsy side of the city of Córdoba, by visiting the district known as Nueva Córdoba (“New Córdoba”). The tour ends with a gourmet “picada” (assorted cold cuts, cheeses and appetizers).

Alta Gracia.

We invite you to know Alta Gracia, in a not-to-be-missed cultural tour. During the tour, we will visit the Viceroy Liniers Museum, housed within the magnificent ancient building of a former Jesuit Estancia, and the house where Ernesto “Che” Guevara lived during his years in Córdoba.

Jesuit Estancias.

Learn about the “Road of the Jesuit Estancias”, declared Cultural Heritage of Mankind by UNESCO. During this tour, we will visit three of these former Jesuit ranches: Colonia Caroya, Jesús Maria and Santa Catalina.

Duration: 8hours

 

Hill Horseback riding in Sierras Chicas.

Horseback ride in the hills to get panoramic views of Córdoba outskirts, old limestone quarries and deep ravines. This activity does not require previous riding experience.

Operates: daily on private basis. Mo/We/ Fr on SIB Basis

Duration: 8/9hours

Difficulty level: Low (4 hours riding)

Wine Route.

The circuit starts with the visit to the Museo Jesuítico Nacional (National Jesuit Museum in the former Jesús María jesuit ranch) where the winemaking activity in the province first started. The tour continues then with a visit and wine tasting at La Caroyense, a centennial winery where we will learn about the traditional methods of wine production as led by the first immigrants that settled in the region. Afterwards, we will visit Bodega Terra Camiare, a modern high-end winery where after the visit we will enjoy lunch, to taste the traditional cuisine of the Italian region of Friuli, from where the first settlers arrived.
